Ozel Office was initially approached by a bank to design a public sculpture for a boutique branch. Instead of doing that, we proposed Akbank to design a virtual sculpture that can be accessed through an Augmented Reality extension in their mobile banking app. The objective behind the proposal was to democratize the notion of the art experience and make it available to the masses trough a commonplace virtual medium. The project maps decades of banking activities focused toward entrepreneurship through a particle system choreographed to form a 3D model of a high resolution CAT scan of a human heart. The online banking users can point their camera to images mounted on the sidewalk in front of all Akbank branches and will be able to enjoy a virtual animation that embodies the bank’s support for entrepreneurs and small businesses.
